South Oil’s Sozak Phosphate investment project, being implemented in the Sozak District, received support from the Turkestan Region Akimat, headed by Nuralkhan Kusherov, who attended the plant’s capsule-laying ceremony. The project has been included in the industrialization map, according to the press service of the Turkestan Region Akimat.
“Head of State Kassym-Jomart Kemeluly instructed us to diversify the economy and develop manufacturing. Active work in this direction is underway in the region. Today, we are beginning construction on an important investment project for the Turkestan region and the Sozak district. This plant will process phosphorus residue to produce fertilizers needed for agriculture. The launch of the plant will reduce dependence on imported phosphorus-containing fertilizers. The fertilizers and chemicals produced here will have a positive impact on stabilizing food prices in the country. Investments in the project will definitely pay off and have a multiplier effect on the economy of the district and the region. Infrastructure support will also be provided,” noted Nuralkhan Kusherov.
The project is being implemented in partnership between Souths-Oil and China Tianchen Engineering Corporation LTD. The ceremony was attended by the companies’ CEOs, Serikzhan Seitzhanov and Liang Junxiang.
The planned investment volume is approximately 140 billion tenge, and the number of jobs created is approximately 1,000. The project will strictly adhere to environmental standards and utilize modern technologies for processing phosphorus residues, producing fertilizers, and deep processing them.
The project’s expected capacity is 1 million tons of nitrogen-phosphorus-potassium fertilizers and 600,000 tons of phosphate nitrate per year. Commissioning is scheduled for 2027. In addition to the domestic market, the products will be exported to India, China, and neighboring countries.
